Water System

How Do We Get Our Water?

The Camp Meeker Recreation and Park District is unique. By special legislation, the District was given the powers of a California Water District in 1994. This enabled the District to build a state-of-the-art water system that supplies 365 residences.

The Water System is governed by the same Board of Directors elected to the Recreation and Park District. However, from a financial and legal perspective, these two functions of the District are managed as entirely separate entities.

The day-to-day operations of the Water System, including its billing and collections, are managed Russian River Utility, a company with a long history in West Sonoma County water systems. Engineering support for the Water System is provided by Brelje and Race, an engineering consulting firm with expertise in small public utilities such as Camp Meeker.

State of California Domestic Water Supply Permit to Operate 2026

The Camp Meeker Parks and Recreation District has been issued a Permit to Operate by the California State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Drinking Water, for the Camp Meeker Water System (System No. 4910029), effective May 18, 2026. This permit authorizes the legal operation of the water system and confirms compliance with California drinking water regulations.
